In my newest at The Daily Beast, I interview Americans stranded in Peru, waiting for the US State Department to rescue them. They are running out of money, time, and medication and anxiety is high. Check it out:

“For a country of 32 million, Peru only has 416 cases of COVID-19 and (as of publication) seven deaths. This is partly due to an immediate and strict quarantine emergency order issued March 16 by President Martin Vizcarra, with borders being closed the following day.
